“And, again, it has been discovered that all the world is made of the same atoms, that the stars are of the same stuff as ourselves. It then becomes a question of where did our stuff come from. Not just where did life come from, or where did the earth come from, but where did the stuff of life and of the earth come from? It looks as if it was belched from some exploding star, much as some of the stars are exploding now.
So this piece of dirt waits four and one half billion years and evolves and changes, and now a strange creature stands here with instruments and talks to the strange creatures in the audience. What a wonderful world!”
From Zen Teacher Daniel Doen Silberberg to Science and Dharma teacher Richard Feynman – gratitude for your life – deep bows.

This is beautiful; reminds me of one of my favorite song lyrics:
And another had been found, another ocean on the planet,
Given that our blood is just like the Atlantic, and how.
Well, the universe is shaped exactly like the earth;
If you go straight long enough you’ll end up where you were.
Thank you! I feel sparkly.

Didn’t know this quote yet. But I love an appreciate Richard Feynman and his kind of view which was even for a modern physicist quite strange…
Thanks, Sensei!
Strange and wonderful indeed. Deep bows to both of you.
Alan Watts said to think of the big bang as throwing a bottle of ink on a white wall but the ink splats never stop moving away from the point of impact. We are the splats some distance from the center of impact but we are still the ink, just like every other splat on the wall.
@Kelli
Thank you, wonderful.
@Volker
Thanks Volker. I thought of you as I wrote this and knew you would like it too.
@Chris
And bows to you.
@Rebecca
Yes we are absolutely all the ink. But what was ink before there were people. Ink is a human concept and idea. So it was even more mysterious than I think even Alan knew.
Thanks for your comment Rebecca.
What a great quote Sensei. Richard Feynman is one of my favorite explainers of science, and I quote him often in my classes. But this one is good for sitting. I see how it can take me beyound thought.
@ John
Yes and beyond certainty and understanding. Thank You John,
Doen,
I the notion that all of us are made from atoms of the universe, it makes my and everyone’s essence even more unique and yet the same.
Thank you for this.
